WILMINGTON, NC (UNCW) — The University of North Carolina Wilmington Chancellor Search Committee has selected Parker Executive Search to guide the recruitment of a successor for Chancellor Rosemary DePaolo, who announced last month that she will retire June 30, 2011.

Parker Executive Search, based in Atlanta, is a global retained executive search firm. Dan Parker, president and lead consultant for Parker, will head search efforts for the new UNC Wilmington Chancellor.

On Monday, Nov. 15, the UNCW Chancellor Search Committee, comprised of UNCW trustees, faculty, staff, alumni and community members, announced four search firm candidates. The 16-member search committee and Parker Executive Search will work together to identify a pool of candidates for the position of UNCW chancellor, with the goal of recommending finalists to the UNCW Board of Trustees in April 2011.

Parker Executive Firm has conducted more than 1,000 senior-level searches for national and international clients, ranging from higher education institutions to Fortune 500 corporations. Parker is among the leading executive search firms in the world.

The search firm will be included in all five of the search committee’s Dec. 1 open forums. Public forums will be held simultaneously in three area counties at 6:30 p.m. at the following locations:

-New Hanover County – UNCW Burney Center
-Onslow County – Coastal Carolina Community College, C. Louis Shields Learning Resource Center (Main Library) room 201
