Community and local businesses donate toys for special rooms

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Jon David’s office is saying “thank you” to the community for giving them toys for children.

About a month ago, the District Attorney’s Office asked for help furnishing a special room with toys for abused children.  The room is used to meet and talk with child victims in cases of abuse and sexual assault.

The New Hanover Toys for Tots and the Brunswick County Toys for Tots opened their doors to our office and allowed us to select as many toys as they needed. They said they had generous donations in the form of toys and cash from former victims of cases and citizens of the community.  Local businesses, Home Depot and Brunswick Electric, made donations in the form of toy shelves, rugs, and monetary funds.

The District’s Office says they were able to furnish entire rooms in the Brunswick, Columbus, and Bladen County offices.
