Company recycles houses

Reduce, reuse, recycle. It’s a process that works for many household items. But now you can actually recycle your home.

Welch Home Movers relocates and rehabs homes. Property owners will give up the homes or sell them inexpensively to Welch, rather than pay to have them demolished.

The owner of Welch Home Movers says.
One Wilmington house cost $12,000 to move and $10,000 to rehab. The new owner is getting a house for $22,000.

Welch Home Movers owner Brian Welch said, “There’s too many of them bulldozed and thrown away. They’re not used up. They built homes great in the ’30s, ’40s and ’50s. Why throw them away when you can make affordable housing for people who can’t afford it brand new?”

Welch also says recycling a home saves space in the landfills.
