Construction starts on Brunswick Novant Medical Center

At the construction kickoff for the new hospital today, the name Brunswick Novant Medical Center was also revealed.

There are already some signs of construction on the $107,000,000 facility, which is about three miles from the current hospital on Highway 17.

Hospital administrators, employees, and patients are excited about the many services of the new hospital, including private rooms, five operating rooms, and an ER.

President and CEO of Brunswick Novant Medical Center Denise Mihal said, “Finally, we’re here to officially kickoff the construction. The employees are so excited, the staff, the patients, everybody’s stopping by, and so excited and, we’re thrilled to finally get it off the ground, and see some bulldozers and dirt moving.”

The new hospital is expected to open in 2010.
