Controlled burn at Carolina Beach State Park

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — A burn will close some trails at the Carolina Beach State Park today.

According to a news release from the park superintendent, the burns are planned for areas of the park along Sugarloaf Trail an along the Cape Fear River.

Sugarloaf, Swamp and Oak Toe Trails will be closed.

You can check in at the park Visitor Center or the marina store for more information and a map of the trail closures.

The park will remain open with the Visitor Center, marina and campground operating as normal.
