Cosby removed as advisor at High Point University

HIGH POINT, NC (AP) — High Point University has removed Bill Cosby’s name from its board of advisors amid of allegations of sexual assault made against him by four women.

The High Point Enterprise reports the school announced Thursday that it had removed the 77-year-old comedian’s name from its National Board of Advisors, a panel comprised of CEOs, “thought leaders and distinguished visionaries.” The school’s website says board members provide counsel to the school with regard to strategic goals, planning and execution.

Among the board’s members are Gen. Colin Powell and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.

Cosby was appointed to the board this past summer. At the time, HPU President Nido Qubein noted that Cosby had used his talent to create positive change and inspire America with his humor and philanthropic endeavors.
