Council approves $86k for Smith Creek kayak launch

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington City Council approved more than $86,000 to provide a local match for a state grant to build a kayak launch on Smith Creek.

The city has received a $175,000 grant to develop a site on Smith Creek’s lower reach near the intersection of McRae Street and Cornelius Harnett Drive that will include a boardwalk and parking facilities.
