Counterfeit cash stamped ‘Motion Picture Use Only’ in town

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – The Wilmington Police Department has a warning, especially for food delivery drivers.

Someone is passing off counterfeit $100 bills.  While the money looks real, it has ‘Motion Picture Use Only’ on both sides.

Police say it happened twice within the past week at Campus Evolution Apartments.

Police say a Jimmy John’s driver and a Chopstix driver met the person who ordered the food at the complex, but not at a front door.

One of the drivers met at 1:00 a.m. and another in the evening.

Police are asking drivers to be more observant of the cash they receive.
