Country music singer’s father arrested in Carolina Beach

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) – The father of country music singer Kellie Pickler was arrested over the weekend in Carolina Beach.

Carolina Beach Police Department Spokesman Scott Hettinger says police arrested Clyde Raymond Pickler, Jr just before midnight Saturday at Cole’s Motel.

Pickler is charged with selling or delivering marijuana, possession with intent to manufacture sell or distribute marijuana, and possession of marijuana.

Hettinger says the arrest was the result of a narcotics investigation.

As of this morning, Pickler was still in the New Hanover County Jail under a $10,000 bond.

His first court appearance is today.
