County clean-up begins for tornado debris

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — In New Hanover County, storm debris pick-up began today for folks impacted by last week’s tornado, which touched down in the Ogden area.

Piles of debris lined the street over on Timber Creek Lane, ready to be picked up by the county. You could still hear the sound of a few chainsaws as some folks continued working on cleaning up the mess.

The storm knocked down trees and damaged a few homes and cars, but there were no reports of serious injury.
