County school funding are going to see cuts

A sluggish economy has set the state budget back billions of dollars. That means budgets are being cut in various arenas, including funding for county schools statewide.

All of the school districts in our area are seeing cuts of at least $200,000. New Hanover County has to cut close to one million dollars.

School officials still need to meet and determine how the cuts are going to play out.
