Raleigh woman killed crossing I-40 on foot near I-140


NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (StarNews) — A Raleigh woman was killed early Wednesday morning on Interstate 40 as she crossed on foot near Exit 416.

Ann Gillum, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 5:30 a.m. collision near the exit to Interstate 140.

Trooper K.B. Parker said a westbound 2007 Mercedes driven by Dana Edward Doten, 52, of Fairfax, Va., struck Gillum as she walked in the right lane of I-40.
