Crash knocks out power around Bolivia, court to resume this afternoon

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) – Just before noon, a car crashed into a utility pole at Green Lewis Road and Midway Road, knocking out power for hundreds of people in Bolivia.

The Brunswick County Courthouse also lost power and had to end the morning court session early. Court is scheduled to resume at 2:00 p.m. after a long lunch.

Part of the Brunswick County Detention Center also lost power.

According to the Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation outage map, about 850 people remain without power at this time.
