Crews battle fire at Southport assisted living facility


SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — A dryer caused a fire at the Carillon Assisted Living Facility in Southport Thursday evening.

Brunswick County Fire Marshal Scott Garner said the fire was confined to the laundry room.

Garner said all 49 of the facility’s residents were evacuated and have been relocated while the facility is being evaluated.

No injuries were reported.
