Crews clear gas leak at CFCC

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Fire Department says a gas leak has been fixed at a construction site on Cape Fear Community College’s downtown campus.

The leak was at the intersection of 2nd and Brunswick streets. The line was damaged during construction digging.

The nearby construction site was evacuated, but workers have been allowed back to their jobs.

Brunswick was blocked off from Front to 3rd streets, and 2nd Street was blocked off from Front to Hanover streets as crews worked to stop the leak.
