Crews quick to repair Wilmington National Cemetery damage

WILMINGTON, NC (StarNews) — On Wednesday, the first of two headstones was replaced at Wilmington National Cemetery after they were destroyed Aug. 16 when a car crashed through the brick wall of the cemetery at 20th and Princess streets.

Tirron Omar Bright, 23, was charged with hit-and-run and impaired driving in connection with the damage, according to the Wilmington Police Department.

Dennis Rushing of Cape Fear Land Management, the maintenance contractor at the cemetery, said his crew did quick work to get the area cleaned up.
