The fire department says some surrounding homes were evacuated out of precaution.
WFD says the fire was caused by an electrical malfunction.
Two people were displaced but didn’t need assistance from the Red Cross.
A spokeswoman with the Wilmington Fire Department says no one was hurt. She says a 10-year-old boy who lives in the home next door first spotted the fire and called 911.
“I saw red stuff and then it was big trees on fire, and then I was really scared. People were in trouble, and I didn’t want them to get hurt,” 10-year-old Alijauan said.
Alijauan and his siblings were in their home next door, and were able to evacuate safely.
