Crews respond to Southport dock fire

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Roads have reopened in and around the 700 block of E. Moore Street in Southport following a dock fire Friday morning.

According to Southport Police, the call came in around 9am. A dock house structure was fully involved when fire crews arrived.

Southport Fire quickly got the blaze under control with assistance of the U.S. Coast Guard.

There were no injuries reported. While the exact cause of the fire is under investigation, it is believed some type of cooking device or fire pit may to blame.
