WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — One street in Wilmington is saying goodbye to asphalt and hello to its roots.

Crews are removing a layer of asphalt covering bricks on 4th Street between Market and Dock Streets this week.

They’ll be working Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Wilmington has about four miles of brick streets that have been covered with asphalt over time.
