Crooks brave storm to steal guns from Brunswick Co. store

CALABASH, NC (WWAY) — Tropical Storm Ana did not stop some crooks from stealing firearms in Calabash early this morning.

As the storm moved into southern Brunswick County overnight, two men broke into Low Country Sports at 580 Thomasboro Rd. in Calabash and stole three handguns and five long guns, investigators with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office say. The 911 Communications Center got the call about the break-in just after 1 a.m.was notified at approximately 1:04am this morning of the break in.

Investigators say one of the suspects was wearing a red plaid coat, blue jeans and a dark bandana over his face. The second wore shorts, a white/grey T-shirt, and a knit hat.
