Cucalorus celebrates ex-girlfriends, ghosts and cat salads
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington’s Cucalorus Film Festival’s early selections celebrate bartenders, ex-girlfriends, ghosts, and cat salads.
That’s according to a news release from organizers. They said there are 116 early film selections for the 21st annual Cucalorus Film Festival and CONNECT Conference.
Feature films chosen for early selections include Trey Edward Schults’ “KRISHA”, and Stephen Cone’s Henry Gamble’s Birthday Party. Documentary selections include Stanley Nelson’s “The Black Panthers: Vanguards of the Revolution”, and Michael Beach Nichols and Christopher K. Walker’s “Welcome to Leith”.
In addition to the films, organizers said the Cucalorus CONNECT Conference expands the festival’s focus to celebrate innovation and entrepreneurship across many industries. They organized it through an ongoing partnership with UNCW Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
The Cucalorus Film Festival will be Nov. 11-15 in downtown Wilmington. For more information on the early selections, and tickets, go to www.cucalorus.org.
