Cucalorus hit screens at UNCW this week

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Cucalorus fan favorite ‘Wilmington on Fire’ will be playing in the Port City again, this time at UNCW’s Kenan Auditorium.

The feature length documentary focuses on the Wilmington Massacre of 1898. The documentary features interviews with historians as well as descendants of some of the victims of a government overthrow that forced thousands of black Wilmingtonians from the city for good.

The screening will be presented by UNCW Presents and the Association for Campus Entertainment this Thursday, January 21, at 7:30 p.m. The film will be followed by a panel discussion about art and social justice.
