Dance-a-Lorus sets film festival in motion
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The opening performance for the Cucalorus Film Festival merges film and dance. Dance-a-Lorus is a chance for choreographers to collaborate with filmmakers to come up with a performance piece.
Dancers from Wilmington’s Dance Cooperative put the work in motion using different styles of dance and even playing the role of the silver screen.
“Dance-a-Lorus is an event for filmmakers and choreographers and dancers to showcase dance, modern dance,” Dance Cooperative’s Nancy Carson said. “We have actually a tap this time, and we have hip-hop, so it’s collaboration of efforts.”
Dance-a-Lorus is Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Thalian Hall.
Tickets are $15. They are available at Thalian Hall’s box office, at Cucalorus headquarters at 201 Princess Street or online at http://www.etix.com.
