Dangerous Dog Appeals Court
Two months ago, Melissa and Richard Allard of Wilmington had their 2 dogs labeled dangerous by Animal Control. The Allard’s appealed the decision, and ended up in dog court Tuesday night.
Karreen Watson, a Pekinese owner is the complainant and is scared for her dog.
“I figured I’d be safe in my front yard to let her go outside. So now she doesn’t go to the bathroom like she’s supposed to because she’s petrified,” said Watson.
Melissa Allard, owner of a German Shepard and Jack Russell Terrier said, “They have not gotten off in several months, we’re responsible owners. It’s just hard for us to live with these restrictions.”
Well, those restrictions are now gone. The appeals panel ruled that the German Shepherd and Jack Russell are not dangerous.
This verdict did not go over well with Karreen Watson.
“My dog is a Pekinese. She weighs 9 pounds. I’m 62. I’ve had heart problems. I don’t want to get upset. We don’t want you to get upset. Well that’s what you’re doing to me,” Watson said.
