Dark Horse Stages reveals upcoming soundstage upgrades
WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY)– Dark Horse Stages is currently undergoing a significant rebranding, with their soundstages receiving a makeover.
The state-of-the-art facilities are under construction and are slated to open next month in September.
Kirk Englebright, President and CEO of Dark Horse Stages, recently gave us a rundown of the new features set to debut.
Stages 3 and 4 will be equipped with cutting-edge technology previously unseen in North Carolina.
Highlights include “Silent Air” systems, 12-inch thick concrete tilt-up walls, and an unprecedented amount of steel reinforcement—more than what’s used in the Statue of Liberty.
Englebright explained that these enhancements were carefully selected after research on various soundstages across the country.
With these improvements, Dark Horse Stages is most excited about what they can offer the film industry in Wilmington.
“We’re thrilled about the possibilities this brings to Wilmington,” Englebright shared. “People stay here for extended periods, so the local economy benefits immensely from production spending. It’s a significant boost to the Wilmington market and the surrounding areas.”
As Wilmington gears up to resume its film activity, Englebright is enthusiastic about welcoming back crews and getting back to production.
Dark Horse Stages is targeting early December to begin working on new film projects in their soundstages.
