‘Day in a Life’ luncheon raises money for sex trafficking victims

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Local organization “A Safe Place” held its 5th annual “A Day in the Life” luncheon to raise money to help victims of sex trafficking.

The luncheon honored those who are helping offer shelter and support to the victims.

More than 400 people were at Friday’s fundraising luncheon.

The proceeds raised will help the organization fund its new emergency shelter for women, the first shelter of its kind on the east coast.

They currently need appliances at the new shelter.
