D.C. Virgo teacher charged with DWI, driving 103 mph
WILMINGTON, NC (StarNewsOnline.com) — A New Hanover County Schools teacher was arrested near Leland Saturday and charged with DWI.
According to Sgt. P.M. Sanders of the NC Highway Patrol, William Bessmer was arrested just before 2 a.m. Saturday morning on U.S. 74/76 near Leland. Sanders said Bessmer was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle and had been traveling at 103 mph in a 55-mph work zone.
