Decorate your home while helping animals

How would you like to dress up your home with some fine art and help a good cause in the process? You can do just that this weekend with the Pender County Humane Society’s Fifth Annual Artists Aid the Animals Arts Show.

It will feature art from more than two dozen artists, including painters Ivey Hayes and Ronald Williams and photographer Chuck Carmack.

“(There will be) everything from pottery to jewelry. But it’s just their love for animals and to help us raise money. Even though we say Pender County Humane Society, we have no funding from the county. It’s all what we raise and the art show helps us with operating,” said Gloria Johnson of the Pender County Humane Society.

The Artists Aid the Animals Art Show takes place Saturday at American Legion Post 10 on Pine Grove Road in Wilmington. It runs from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are welcome.
