Democrats Rejoice in Brunswick County

The Democratic headquarters in Brunswick County is still buzzing tonight. Hundreds gathered to see the numbers come in for the county races.

Enthusiasm for the race to the White House trumped excitement over the local races. Current numbers show Republican candidates have swept most of the county including the race for 17th State House Seat between incumbent Bonner Stiller and Vernon Ward who congratulated his opponent.

Vernon Ward said, “I’m a very small part of what is going on tonight. I would like to congratulate Bonner Stiller but in terms of the other races, we are extremely excited with the potential of what it looks like state wide and nationally. I’m some what disappointed within the county.”

Ward said if he could run his campaign differently, he would have contributed more money in hopes of winning.
