Demolition begins on section of Wilmington’s Riverwalk

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Demolition of the old section of downtown Wilmington’s Riverwalk behind the Brooks Building is underway.

Since that section is connected to the building owners are doing the demolition, then the City will build a freestanding riverwalk along that portion. In the meantime, the public is advised to continue to use the sidewalk along the east side of Water Street as a detour.
