Brunswick Co. dentist office buys back candy to send to deployed troops
BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) — A local dentist office is “buying back” Halloween candy that will be sent off to deployed military troops.
Coastal Pediatric Dentistry is collecting the goodies that will then be shipped to Operation Gratitude for inclusion in care packages to U.S. Service Members deployed overseas and to first responders serving at home.
Coastal Pediatric Dentistry will be “buying back” children’s Halloween candy and collecting handwritten letters or drawings to Service Members beginning on Halloween and continuing through the first week of November. Children will receive a small monetary buy-back by the pound for candy donated and all children (under 18) donating will be entered to win an iPad mini.
Dr. Cecilia Liu is proud to participate in the Operation Gratitude Halloween Buy-Back program to reduce excess sugar consumption, prevent dental decay, and reinforce for children the importance of saying “Thank You” to all who serve.
Over the past two years, Coastal Pediatric Dentistry has collected and donated nearly 500 pounds of candy.
