‘Dentistry from the Heart’ provides free dental care

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A group of dentists are spreading some free smiles across Brunswick County for their Dentistry From the Heart Event.

Dentists and hygienists volunteer their time to provide cleaning, filling, and extracting to anyone who needs it. Dr. Darren Harrington said last year’s event served more than 200 people, and he expects a larger turnout this year.

“People appreciate you for what you’re doing, and we’re not worried about exchanging money and things today,” Harrington said. “It’s just very rewarding when people appreciate what you do for them.”

This is the fifth year Coastal Cosmetic Family Dentistry has hosted the event.
