Deputies investigate stabbing in Ogden

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Sheriff’s deputies are on the scene of a stabbing in the Ogden area of New Hanover County.

Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Jerry Brewer says the call came in from Middle Sound Loops and Dunbar roads.

Brewer says a man in his mid-30s with scruffy hair and wearing a flannel shirt and jeans broke into a home.  A woman was home at the time and she and the suspect got into a scuffle.  Brewer says the man then stabbed the woman.

Brewer said the woman’s injuries are not life-threatening but she will need stitches.

The victim told deputies she had seen the suspect walking along a wooded area near the homes in the community.

Deputies temporarily set up a perimeter to search for the suspect, but they believe he may have driven off on a scooter.
