Deputies investigating Columbus Co. church break-ins

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — At least two churches reported crimes as 2015 ended. In both instances, stereo equipment from the churches was the primary target.

According to incident logs, break-ins were reported at two Whiteville-area churches on December 31. The first was reported at the Atkinson Temple Holiness Church on McMillan Road. According to the log, some stereo equipment and a keyboard were taken. The second break-in was reported at the Spiritual Lighthouse Church in the 1300-block of Golf Course Road. More stereo equipment, electronics and instruments were reported stolen.

There’s no word if the two are connected.
