Deputies search for man accused of attacking ex-girlfriend after break-in
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a Wilmington man accused of attacking his ex-girlfriend after breaking into her house early this morning.
Sebastian John Catanzaro, 49, of Horn Road in Wilmington, faces charges of first-degree burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, communicating threats, injury to personal property and injury to real property.
Investigators say around 2 a.m. Catanzaro broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home in the 8000 block of Black Chestnut Drive in Leland. They say when he got in, he destroyed things around the house, hit his ex in the head with a metal object and threatened to kill her. According to warrants he also intended to rape her.
Catanzaro is a white male, about 5’6″ tall and weighs around 180 pounds. He has grey hair and blue eyes.
