Deputies: Teacher assaulted by student at Topsail Middle School

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Pender County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after an 8th grade teacher said a male student assaulted her last week.

Captain James Rowell with the sheriff’s office said the assault happened Thursday at Topsail Middle School.

Rowell said depending on if the teacher presses charges, since the student is a minor, the charges would be up to juvenile services.

Rowell could not say anything more on the assault itself.
