Detectives searching for masked man after armed robbery

OCEAN ISLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Brunswick County detectives are searching for an armed man they say robbed an Ocean Isle Beach gas station Wednesday night.

It happened around 11 p.m. at the Kangaroo Express at 927 Seaside Road. Investigators say a young, thin, black male, who is about 5’5″ tall was wearing a red bandanna over his face and head when he robbed the store clerk there.

Detectives say the robber could be a passenger in a blue 2005 Altima with Tennessee tags reading P0034C. They say the description of the man matches that of a suspect in two other armed robberies reported in Horry County last night.

Investigators say the man got away with some cash from inside the store. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office at (910)253-2777.
