Developer eyes Porters Neck Road for 5-story hotel

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Winston-Salem developer is looking at a 3.45-acre site in New Hanover County to develop 5-story hotel.

A community meeting has been scheduled to discuss the potential rezoning of the property. A letter to adjacent property owners from Design Solutions says the developer is holding a meeting for everyone who lives within 500 feet of the development. This will give neighbors a chance to learn about the proposal and ask questions.

According to the site plan, the property is located on Porters Neck Road behind the Wendy’s and the strip mall that features the K38 Baja Grill and Port City Java.

The hotel would feature 150 rooms, 161 parking spaces, and a pool.

The community meeting is being held Wednesday, November 1 at 6 p.m. at Clarendon Properties on Stokley Drive in Wilmington.
