Diamond Hawks set to play ball

Despite the cold weather it’s time for the UNC Wilmington baseball team to play ball. The season starts Friday for the Seahawks. They’ll head south to play the University of Jacksonville.

Head coach Mark Scalf is entering his 19th season as the UNCW skipper. He says he has high expectations he has for his team.

The Seahawks have been in the NCAA baseball tournament field four of the last seven seasons.

The Seahawks’ first home game is March 5 versus Akron.
