Diverging Diamond completion project a go, NCDOT says

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Despite a chance of rain Friday and Saturday, the NCDOT said they will complete the Diverging Diamond project in Leland this weekend.

NCDOT spokesman Brian Rick said project managers made the call this morning. The project is located at the interchange of Village Road and the Causeway. Crews will close that interchange Friday night at 8 p.m. and reopen it Monday morning at 6 a.m. before the morning traffic rush.

The Diverging Diamond is designed to get drivers on the highway easier and safer by switching reversing the lanes, the DOT said.
