Divers rescued three miles off shore
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit rescued two divers about three miles off the shore Tuesday afternoon.
The Sheriff’s office says David Bradshaw and Kristi Miller were diving near the Liberty Ship Dive site, when their ship’s anchor became loose, the engine disabled, and the boat started drifting away from the submerged divers.
Deputies were able to locate Miller and Bradshaw after they had surfaced by calling out and using distress whistles.
No one was hurt.
