Twitter seems to be the latest social-networking craze. It’s also a popular tool for businesses and politicians.

Twitter is a quick way to let people know what you’re up to by simply answering the question, what are you doing?

Twitter is a free service that allows users to publish short messages in 140 characters or less, known as “tweets.”

The messages are read by “followers,” people who subscribe to your messages and have them delivered to their own twitter home pages.

President Obama used Twitter during his campaign, but has since abandoned the site. He was last reported twittering the day before the inauguration.

Throughout the President’s address last week, politicians in the audience were seen twittering.

The site may not be hot on the social-networking scene here in Wilmington, but it does have more than four million members.
