Dockside owners pull parking lot plans

WILMINGTON, NC (StarNews) — The owners of Dockside Restaurant and Bar have pulled an attempt to have the City of Wilmington rezone their parking lot, Jeff Walton, a Wilmington associate planner, said Friday.

Walton said the parking lot will remain unchanged for the foreseeable future and the city does not have any new or revised plans for the property.

The action brings to a close the latest chapter in Dockside’s attempts to have the property rezoned.

In March 2015, the Wilmington City Council unanimously rejected an attempt to change the zoning at 1303 and 1308 Airlie Road from residential to community business. Under those plans, the restaurant proposed paving 95 parking space, building three homes and a garage apartment.
