DOT announces closure of downtown bridge

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Engineers with the Department of Transportation announce the future closure of a bridge in Downtown Wilmington.

DOT officials say the 3rd Street bridge will be replaced; the closure starts Monday, April 13 and lasts until April 1, 2016.

They say for the detour to take Hwy 74 West to Hwy 421, take Hwy 421 South to Hwy 17 BUS, and take Hwy 17 Bus East.
