DOT: Bad weather not affecting projects

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — While this week’s weather might have put a damper on things, the good news is it did not slow down progress on the Causeway Project and work on I-140.

Brian Rick with the DOT said both projects have built-in weather days, and therefore, are still on track for completion on time.

Rick said the bypass is almost idle right now due to the wet weather, but each contract allows for slower and less productive winter months as well as rain days.

Part of the project, opening a third lane heading south from the battleship to the Brunswick River bridge, should be complete by the summer. Click here for the handout from the NCDOT in PDF form
