DOT crews delay bridge inspection after holiday traffic concerns

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Plans to inspect the Wrightsville Beach drawbridge have been delayed.

Earlier this week, we told you crews planned to inspect the bridge starting next week during the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Crews were going to be doing the work Monday through Thursday.

According to a NCDOT spokesman, they have now decided to move that inspection to Tuesday, July 12. Instead of four days, the spokesman said they will do the work all day Tuesday, starting very early, to complete their work.

Officials decided to move the work due to the upcoming holiday weekend traffic.
