DOT replaces Brunswick Co. misspelled sign with correct spelling

LELAND, NC (StarNews) — A misspelled sign on US 17-74-76 caused a ruckus on social media two weeks ago.

The sign, where US 17-74-76 splits after motorists leave the Causeway area, displayed Whiteville as “Whitevllie.”

It has since been replaced with the correct spelling.
