Downtown Sundown Concert Series announces charity partners, opening acts

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Downtown, Inc. has announced charity partners and opening acts appearing at the Downtown Sundown Concert Series for 2016.

WDI began partnering with other area nonprofit groups in 2011 to split proceeds for the sale of wristbands.  The wristbands cost $1 and can be purchased by people who are 21 and older and want to enjoy beer or wine at the show.  Anyone attending the event can also make a direct donation to the charity.  Last year, WDI contributed approximately $8,800 to area nonprofits through the wristband program.

The free concerts run from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in the parking lot at the corner of Princess and Water Streets each Friday night from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
