Downtown Wilmington enjoys tree lighting, Santa Claus
Christmas cheer lit up the Cape Fear River Friday evening. Caroling filled the air in downtown Wilmington as the city held it’s annual Christmas tree lighting.
All of the ornaments for the tree were made by students at local schools. Those who attended the tree lighting said it reminds them what they love about Christmas.
“What I like about Christmas is we get to spend all different kinds of time with our families and we can have all different kinds of presents,” said Sarah Hurley.
Turtle Creek Nursery donated the tree this year.
And what tree lighting would be complete without a visit from Santa Claus? Kids of all ages had the chance to take their picture with jolly Saint Nick.
