Drive-in concert series kicks off at the Wilson Center
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)–Cape Fear Community College kicked off their summer concert series Thursday night at Wilson Center in downtown Wilmington.
Music lovers piled into their cars to check out some of the Cape Fear’s top talent on the stage. It was this years first drive-in concert at the Wilson Center. The money raised from the performances is serving as the primary fundraising effort the the CFCC Foundation’s “Gift of Education” initiative this year.
Those who attended the concert on Thursday night said it’s a win-win situation for everyone involved.
“Musicians have taken a big hit because there is nowhere to play right now and there’s no audiences,”says concert goer Kristin Meetze. “So, the fact that Wilson Center created a place for them to play live and have people be able to come to the show is really appreciated for sure.”
Tickets for the concert must be purchased in advance. There will not be ticket sales on the day of the event. For additional details, please visit www.WilsonCenterTickets.com.
